In 1933, Norberto Goizueta discovered Guadalmina, from his boat and "Serva La bari" with his family. In 1959 the construction of the South Course was completed. This is the story of a family and a golf club, Guadalmina hosted in 1965 the Spanish Championship, and later in the history of the club many other important tournaments have been held in Guadalmina, such as the European Tour Qualifying School in 1995 and 1996 PGA Championship in 1998. In 1973, the second course "Guadalmina North" was completed under the supervision of the architect Folco Nardi. The driving range and practice areas, such as the chipping and putting green, make Guadalmina a great reference for golf in Spain and Andalusia. Today Guadalmina offers 17 different nationalities and more than 2,000 members, and probably the best social life along the Costa del Sol. In 2008, His Majesty the Guadalmina Awarded with the Royal Name, from this date, Guadalmina will be known as Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Fifty years of golf, in a mature but still young and very friendly club. The Ladies Spanish Open was celebrated here, from 18 to 24 September 2017.
