THE NORTH BERWICK GOLF CLUB

Formed in 1832 The North Berwick Golf Club and the West Links course is one of the most historic in Scotland. Golf has been played over the same piece of land since well before the club was formed: only the R&A has played over the same piece of land for longer. A classic seaside links course with stunning views of the Firth of Forth, it is a fair and challenging test of golf for all players. It is a true championship course having hosted many events over the years, including Final Qualifying for The Open Championship on 6 occasions, The British Ladies Amateur Championship in 2008, The Amateur Championship in 2010 and the inaugural 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Pre-Qualifier. Playing the course is all about imagination with the sea in play on 6 holes. The beach is just one long, and sometimes wet, hazard walls in the middle of fairways and in front of a green. All of these hazards add to the joy of playing the West Links, and are an important part of our history charting the development of the course. A warm and genuine welcome and an excellent experience await all coming to play the course.

ROYAL TROON GOLF CLUB

Located in Troon on the west coast of Scotland overlooking the Isle of Arran, Royal Troon Golf Club is one of the great links courses in Scotland and plays host to The Open Championship. Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts Royal Troon Golf Club has outgrown its purely local reputation and is now known as one of the finest championship courses in the world. As host to the Open Championship it is on the wish list of many visiting golfers and recently the club have recognised this and opened up tees times in April and October and on Sunday afternoons. In most recent times the course has hosted the Open in 2004 and 2016, and in 2008 was the venue for the British Seniors in 2009 and is regularily used for The Scottish Amateur Championship. The facilities at Royal Troon have also undergone dramatic changes in the past few years with new visitor facilities and pro shop being added onto the existing clubhouse building. Royal Troon now offers the history and heritage that you'd expect from such a venerable club with the comforts expected by the 21st Century golfing traveller.

PRESTWICK GOLF CLUB

Prestwick Golf Club extends a warm welcome to all golfers from around the world wishing to come and enjoy this testing traditional Links. One of the oldest golf clubs in the world, Prestwick Golf Club inaugurated the first Open Championship in 1860. The winner was Willie Park from Musselburgh with a score of 174 for 36 Holes, two shots clear of Tom Morris the Keeper of Prestwick’s green. Prestwick was home for the first 11 Championships and then held it jointly with The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews and with The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. Prestwick's 24th and last Championship was in 1925 when Jim Barnes from the USA won. Only the Old Course at St Andrews has now hosted more Open Championships than Prestwick. Visitors are encouraged to use their temporary membership to its full capacity, and enjoy the full lunch in the historic Dining Room or a snack in the relaxed Cardinal Room. Situated half an hour's drive south west of Glasgow on Ayrshire's famous golfing coast, a stretch of prime golfing terrain as famous as any in the world, Prestwick shares a boundary with Royal Troon, the venue of the Open Championship in 2016. Turnberry is just 40 minutes away and Open final qualifying courses such as Kilmarnock Barassie, Glasgow Gailes, Western Gailes and Irvine Bogside are all within a 20 minute drive.

WESTERN GAILES GOLF CLUB

The club dates its history back to 1897 and offers the golfer a blend of the traditional and modern. The course presents a fair challenge with very few "blind" shots. The architect has used the natural contours of the land but has also been severe in the placement of bunkers. Major hazards include the beach to the west of the course, the railway line to the east, three burns and a testing breeze off the Firth of Clyde. The course is highly rated in various league tables of worldwide courses. It has frequently been used for final qualifying for the Open at Royal Troon and Turnberry and has hosted the Curtis Cup and eight Scottish Amateur Championships.

MUIRFIELD

Muirfield is the home of The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers: one of the oldest clubs in golf, it began in Leith in 1744, before moving to Musselburgh and finally in 1891 to Muirfield. It is a renowned venue to major championships, having hosted 16 Open Championships, the last in 2013 with Phil Mickelson the Champion. Originally designed by Old Tom Morris, the layout has remained largely unaltered since 1926. The course is designed so that, during a round, holes will be played both against and with a following wind. Built in 1891, the clubhouse is delightfully traditional and full of character, with all the main public rooms looking out onto the course. Visitors are welcome to lunch in the Dining Room upon completion of their morning round. The Dress Code for men is smart, and smart casual for ladies.
